Tree, Road Work To Cause Highway 4 Delays Through Fall

San Andreas, CA — This week kicks off many more to come that are likely to be fraught with ten-minute traffic stack ups along Highway 4 for various reasons.

According to Caltrans officials road construction and tree mortality disaster-related removals of dead and dying trees along Highway 4 between Upper Moran Road and the Calaveras/Alpine county line is now underway and unless otherwise noted likely to continue through sometime in the fall.

The cone zones are slated and detailed as follows:

— Every weekday construction crews will work from Upper Moran Road to the Calaveras Big Trees State Park entrance from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.

— Additionally, paving work will be going on weekdays between Dorrington Station and Cabbage Patch from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Too, this week through Friday take care overhead while a tree removal crew focuses between east of Big Trees State Park to Meko Drive. Work hours are scheduled from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m.
