Five People Displaced After House Fire

Valley Springs, CA — Firefighters quickly knocked down a house fire off Highway 12  in the Valley Springs area of Calaveras County.

The flames broke out in a home in the 4600 block of Double Springs Road, across from Toyon Middle School around 6:15 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene they found the roof/attic area of the home on fire. Crews were able to keep the flames from spreading to nearby vegetation and put out the blaze in about 20 minutes.

CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore shares that five people in the home escaped unharmed. The Red Cross is working to find a place for the displaced residents to stay.
