Update: Vegetation Fire In Calaveras County Contained

Update at 2:30 p.m.: CAL Fire reports the fire was contained at .01 acres.

Update at 2:10 p.m.: CAL Fire reports the vegetation fire in Calaveras County has been contained, but spokesperson Lindy Shoff did not yet have an acreage size. The flames broke out at the base of a windmill along Highway 26 near Shelly Road in the Linden Peters area near Burson. One engine is remaining on scene mopping up and checking for hotspots. Columbia aircraft has been pulled from the blaze and is now heading to assist battling a vegetation fire in the Napa Valley area.

Original post at 1:40 p.m.: Linden Peters, CA — Firefighter are responding to a vegetation fire on Highway 26.

CAL Fire reports smoke and flames were reported by the base of a windmill along Highway 26 near Shelley Road in the Linden Peters and Burson areas. CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff reports that all of Columbia aircraft from a vegetation and structure fire burning in Tuolumne County and sent them to this new vegetation fire in Calaveras. There is no word one the size of the fire. We will bring more details as soon as they come into the newsroom.
