Sewer Maintenance To Clog Sonora Traffic

Sonora, CA – As Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) wastewater department continues its maintenance and annual lining of sewer pipelines, motorists could face delays along a heavily traveled downtown Sonora roadway.

Friday (Dec. 15) crews will be working on Stockton Street/Highway 49 at the Bradford Street intersection from 7a.m. to 5p.m. “No parking” signs will be in place at certain locations in the work area, as needed. There will also be flaggers directing traffic and creating possible ten minute delays for travelers. TUD asks motorists to drive with caution and obey the traffic control signs in the cone zone areas.

The sewer lining maintenance is part of the District’s Capital Improvement Plan, which improves flow in the pipeline to the Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in Sonora, according to TUD.
