Workshop To Focus On Washington Street Improvements

Sonora, CA  — This Thursday there will be a public meeting about proposed ideas to increase safety and mobility in downtown Sonora between the intersection of Stockton Road and the Red Church.

Tuolumne County Transportation Council Executive Director Darin Grossi notes that the hope is to gather input from the community and later submit final plans to the state in hopes of receiving grant money. He adds, “Before we submit the application we are going to hold a public workshop on December 14 at Sonora City Hall between 8am and 1pm. We are hoping to get some of the merchants there by starting the meeting off early. Then we’ll have a presentation to the Vision Sonora committee (9am), and go until one o’clock for people that want to just drop in and look at the maps and exhibits.”

There will be various alternatives for improvements that the community can review and give input about. The workshop will be on the second floor of city hall at 94 North Washington Street.
