A Scare For a Sonora Home Owner

Sonora, CA – A Sonora woman got quite a fright this morning when she found a stranger sleeping in her home.

Sonora Police report that just before 5:30 a.m. they got a call from a resident on Snell Street after she discovered a man sleeping on the floor of her laundry room. Police believe, 28-year-old Jeffery Herdt Jr. of Sonora, got into the house through an unlocked door. He then in turn locked himself in the laundry room and proceeded to make a bed out of blankets he found in the room.

Herdt was taken into custody without incident for trespassing into an occupied dwelling.
