Update: Sierra Nevada Wind Advisory Extended

The National Weather Service has extended the Wind Advisory for the Sierra Nevada, through 10 AM this morning.

Winds of fifteen to forty mph will continue with gusts ranging from fifty to sixty mph through the passes and along the ridgetops.

This means difficult driving conditions for small cars and high profile vehicles. Strong winds may blow down limbs and trees, especially in areas where numerous dead trees are located. Downed power lines may cause scattered power outages.

A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts of 40 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
