Update: House Fire In Calaveras County

Update at 7 p.m.: CAL Fire reports that a house fire in the 520 block of Pennsylvania Gulch Road in Murphys resulted in the modular home being totally destroyed.  The flames did not spread to nearby vegetation. CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore indicates that the house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene around 8:15 a.m. near the Woodland Drive intersection. The Red Cross is assisting the residents that have been displaced by the blaze and none were injured, according to Kilgore, who notes that the cause is still under investigation.

Update at 10:25am: The residential fire on Pennsylvania Gulch Road has been contained. What ignited the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Original story posted at 8:45am: Murphys, CA — Officials are on scene of a residential structure fire in the 520 block of Pennsylvania Gulch Road in Calaveras County.

It is reportedly a modular home near the Woodland Drive intersection. The location is in the greater Murphys area. The fire has not spread to any nearby vegetation. There are no initial reports of any injuries. Be prepared for activity in the area.
