Update: Chimney Fire At Sonora Home

Update at 11:30 a.m.: Crews have knocked down a chimney fire in downtown Sonora. The blaze started around 9:30 a.m. in the 300 block of East Jackson Street near Hope Lane. First responders discovered that it was a flu fire in the chimney. Everyone was able to safely exit the residence. Firefighters will remain on the scene mopping up for the next couple of hours. No injuries have been reported.

Original post by BJ Hansen at 9:45 a.m.: Sonora, CA — There is activity in the 300 block of East Jackson Street near Hope Lane in Sonora.

A residential structure fire was reported at around 9:30 am. First responders discovered that it was a flue fire in the chimney. Everyone was able to safely exit the residence. Firefighters are on the scene, working to extinguish the blaze. Be prepared for activity in the area.

No injuries have been reported.
