Update: Fire In Groveland Area

Update at 6:40 a.m.: CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore reports that crews are getting a handle on the dubbed Hollow Fire burning in the Groveland area of Tuolumne County as the forward spread has been stopped. It is under a quarter-acre in size. The flames broke out in some grass along Highway 120 near Sprague Road East and Ferretti Road, which is between Groveland and Buck Meadow. No structures are threatened. Crews will work towards full containment and mopping up for the next several hours. What ignited the blaze is under investigation.

Original post at 6:03 a.m.: Groveland, CA — Ground crews are heading to a roadside fire in the Groveland area of Tuolumne County.

The flames broke out in some grass along Highway 120 near Sprague Road East and Ferretti Road, which is between Groveland and Buck Meadows. CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore reports that it is a small spot fire right now. There is no word as to the flames’ rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened. An update will be provided as soon as new information comes into the newsroom.
