Officials Extinguishing Fire In Bed Of Truck In Jamestown

Sonora, CA — Officials are on scene of a small fire smoldering in the back bed of a big rig truck.

The CHP reports that the fire was reported by a caller who saw the truck headed westbound on Highway 108 near Hess Avenue. It was later pulled over on Highway 108-49 near Rawhide Road, and smoke was visible coming from the back bed. The CHP reports that it appears the driver of the truck was unaware that some wood chips were smoldering in the bed of the truck. The fire did not spread to any nearby vegetation. Officials are on scene fully extinguishing the fire. Be prepared for some activity in that area.
