Heavy Traffic Delays Near Jamestown

Jamestown, CA — Tree removal work near Jamestown is resulting in extensive traffic delays this morning on Highway 108/49.

Caltrans reported late last week that the planned tree work would run today through Thursday, from 8am-3pm. Caltrans stated that delays of around 10 minutes should be anticipated, but motorists in the area this morning have been reporting to Clarke Broadcasting that the traffic delays have been much longer. News Reporter Tori James was caught in the traffic, and estimated the delay to be around 30 minutes.

Be prepared for activity, and avoid the area if possible. The work is impacting north and southbound Highway 49 traffic from Jamestown Road to East Highway 108 near Sonora.
