Evergreen Road Reopens

Tuolumne County, CA — Tuolumne County Community Resources Agency reports that the Evergreen Road repairs have been completed and the roadway is open to motorists.

As reported here, several stretches had to be fixed when the roadway experienced significant drainage issues during the winter months because of the heavy precipitation. The saturated soils were further impacted by heavy truck traffic for the hazard tree removal projects in the area and the road was shut down on April 7 for emergency repairs. Construction work began on April 18. The county noted that one section of the road required about 24 truckloads of 3 ft. diameter boulders that were put together with concrete and asphalt to repair the road for travel.
