Jackson Man Killed In Crash Near Highway 4

Copperopolis, CA — A Jackson man was killed in a crash Sunday afternoon on Milton Road near the Highway 4 intersection.

The CHP reports that the unidentified 52-year-old drifted off the side of the road in his 2006 Toyota and the vehicle went through a barbed wire fence, down a small embankment, and into a concrete wall in a drainage ditch. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by fire department personnel that arrived on scene. The lone passenger, 55-year-old Tina Ellis, also of Jackson, was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto to treat major injuries. No further details are immediately available, and what exactly caused the driver and vehicle to drift off the road remains under investigation. It happened at around 3:45pm.
