Mountain Ranch Community Conversation This Sunday

This Sunday, there will be a “Community Conversation” in Mountain Ranch from 2 PM through 4:30 PM.

Susan Galvan, President of the Mountain Ranch Community Club, was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

Galvan said that this will be the second community gathering this year.

The first was held on President’s Day. Despite the heavy rain and stormy conditions that Monday, fifty-six local residents attended the meeting.

It was at that first meeting that five subjects were identified and couched for further discussion. This Sunday, the public will know the specifics about the “five pathways of restoration and revitalization in order to bring life back to the Mountain Ranch area.”

According to Galvan, “This area has lost half of the population after the Butte Fire in 2015. People who lost their homes aren’t sure if they should rebuild and a large portion of the people who are buying property here are doing so in order to grow marijuana.”

Galvan added that everybody who wants to speak will be able to do so for three minutes at a time, up to a maximum of three times.

The results of Sunday’s Conversation will be gathered and looked at. Teams will be put together and then specifics will be brought back to the community at a future meeting.

The general public, especially those that live in District 2, are invited to attend the Community Conversation this Sunday from 2 – 4:30 PM at the Mountain Ranch Community Hall.

For more information call Galvan at 209-728-8208.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 on AM 1450 and FM 102.7 KVML.
