Election Update: Flip In Sonora High Board Race

Sonora, CA – With over 5,000 additional ballots counted, there has been a flip in the Sonora High School Trustee Area 2 race, but no changes have occurred in the other Tuolumne County races.

There are now 193 votes separating Keith Arnett and Tristan Kaiser, with Kaiser falling into third place. The new totals have Arnett at 3,194 votes to Kaiser’s 3,001 in a race where voters could vote for two candidates. Leading the race is Mike Holland with 4,375 votes.

Besides that race, Tuolumne County Clerk and Auditor-Controller Debi Bautista reported, “There wasn’t a whole lot of change in the races. I still have about 500 ballots, and we also have the mail from Monday and Tuesday, and some of those with signature issues have until November 15th to rectify them.”

Bautista does not expect any race changes once these ballots are counted. One interesting note: Measure X fell even further, with 52% voting no and 48% voting yes.
