Sonora, CA – Big changes to the state’s building codes has prompted Tuolumne County officials to offer two free seminars on the subject.

The 2016 California Building Standard Codes will take effect on January 1st. The county’s Building and Safety Division wants to help educate the public on those codes, which include building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, green building, and residential.  Some of the significant changes are related to energy efficiency and green building.  County staff also notes that there are numerous code changes intended to clarify the use of the building and residential codes.  The county has released this schedule for the free training:

The classes will be located at 18840 Striker Court in Sonora off Tuolumne Road. Each session will run from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.  For additional information, call the Tuolumne County Building & Safety Division at 209-533-5633.
