Calaveras County Sheriff’s Volunteer Unit Receives Gift

San Andreas, CA — The Stockton Bicycle Club has awarded the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Volunteer Unit with a check to help maintain its operations.

Club President Steve Neiner presented volunteer Sgt. Ed Evans with a $300 check at the Valley Springs Christmas Parade on December 2nd. The bicycle club schedules several rides through Calaveras County each year, taking advantage of the rolling hills and ideal climate for cycling.

The Sheriff’s Office volunteer unit will use the funds to support its efforts like crowd and traffic control during emergencies and special community events.  It is among the several efforts the volunteer group carries out to help the Sheriff’s Office throughout the year.
