Caltrans Road Roundup

Sonora, CA — Sunny Skies all next week keep Caltrans road crews on the move and Mother Lode motorists can expect delays along several area highways.

The hot spot In Tuolumne County is along Highway 120 where several stretches of road construction will create traffic delays. On the highway, between Old Priest Grade and Yosemite National Park, crews will continue trimming trees. One-way traffic control will be in effect Sunday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. creating up to ten minute delays for travelers.

Tree work will also halt traffic for up to ten minutes on the highway from Fire to Ferretti roads. Flaggers will direct one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Flaggers will be conducting one-way traffic control on Highway 108 from Lyons Dam Road to east of Strawberry for continued tree work running Monday and Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Utility work from Elder Road to Old Highway 120, Tuesday through Friday will bring ten minute delays for motorists. One-lane traffic control will run from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

The highway’s closure remains in place in the overnight hours for work on the James E. Roberts Bridge at Lake Don Pedro, Monday through Friday, holding up motorists for about 15-minutes from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. One-way traffic control will be in place during the daytime.

Calaveras Cone Zones

Next week drivers could face ten to fifteen minutes delays on various areas of Highway 26 from Shelton Road to Alabama Hill in Calaveras County. Crews will be conducting striping, paving and slope repair work on the highway. Caltrans has provided this schedule:

Utility work will create five minute traffic stops for travelers on Highway 49 between North Highway 4 (Bypass) and Copello Drive. Flaggers will be conducting one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Striping work along Highway 12 from the San Joaquin/Calaveras County line to Highway 49 in San Andreas creates up to 15 minute traffic delays. The work begins Monday and runs through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Finally, tree work along Highway 4 from Batten Road to Meko Drive brings one-way traffic control Monday to Friday causing about a ten minute delay for motorists from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
