Update: Highway 49 Completely Reopened After Sonora Crash

Update at 12:40 p.m.: Sonora Police report Highway 49 has completely reopened after a four-vehicle pile up caused a traffic jam in downtown Sonora.

The accident happened just before noon at the School Street intersection by Sonora High School. Police report all four vehicles were northbound when a rear end chain reaction accident occurred.  Officers were directing one-way traffic control for about a half hour. No one was injured in the crash.

The wreck is on Highway 49 at the School Street intersection by Sonora High School. Sonora Police report that the roadway is down to one-way traffic control. Motorists are going to want to slow down and use caution.

There is no word on injuries or exact details of what caused the accident. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the news center.
