Additional Traffic Delays Planned Due To Damaged Pole

Sonora, CA — While PG&E has replaced the broken power pole damaged in a Monday downtown Sonora crash, ATT still needs to replace some cable line.

The Sonora PD reports that a big rig truck, driven by a resident of Texas, hit the pole Monday at around 10am at the intersection of South Washington Street and Restano Way. The truck driver contacted the Sonora PD regarding the incident. The intersection was closed for much of Monday as PG&E crews were on scene making repairs.

Traffic is again moving freely this morning. However, ATT reports that some of its cable line needs to be replaced, so a crew will be on scene this evening from around 10pm -2am. During the that time, the right turn lane on Washington Street, for northbound vehicles wanting to turn onto Restano Way, will be closed. Motorists are advised to avoid the area while the work is taking place.
