Moccasin, CA — The CHP and emergency crews are on the scene of a deadly solo-vehicle crash in the Moccasin area where a vehicle plummeted down a ravine.

New Priest Grade/Highway 120 was shut down for about 20 minutes just after 10 a.m. The CHP reports a vehicle went off the highway and 400 feet down an embankment before landing on its roof. One person was pinned inside the vehicle and died at the scene.

Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputies are directing one-way traffic control. The CHP hopes to have the highway completely reopened by noon.
