Update: New Vegetation Fire Near Marshes Fire Forward Rate Stopped

Update at 12:45 p.m.: Cal Fire reports the forward rate of spread has been stopped at a vegetation fire that broke out along Highway 49/120 and Jacksonville road just up from the Marshes Fire. The fire’s size is two acres. All aircraft has been released. Ground crews will continue mopping up. No structures were threatened. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Original post at 12:23 p.m.: Moccasin, CA –Fire resources including all Columbia aircraft are heading to a vegetation fire on Highway 49/120 and Jacksonville Road just east of the Jacksonville Bridge just up from the Marshes Fire.

Cal Fire reports the fire’s size is a half to three-quarters of an acre. There is no information on the flame’s rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened. We will bring you updates as soon as more information comes into the news center.
