Forest Service Names Acting Calaveras District Ranger

Sonora, CA — Ray Cablayan, who has served as a civil engineer with the Stanislaus National Forest since 2008, has been named the new acting Calaveras District Ranger.

He steps in for Teresa McClung, who recently accepted the position of Deputy Forest Supervisor of the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. Cablayan has taken on several notable projects, including being the lead engineer for the Rim Fire Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) implementation and salvage effort. He says, “I am excited for this new opportunity and look forward to representing the Calaveras Ranger District.”

Cablayan is a graduate of the University of the Pacific where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In his spare time he enjoys running, cycling and rock climbing, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
