Mi-Wuk Village Ready For Labor Day Weekend

The fourth annual Chief Fuller Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Mi-Wuk Village.

Mike Lawrence, Chief Fuller Day Founder and Chairman, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

Over twenty vendors will provide homemade crafts, carved wooden bears, jewelry, Native American art, food and beverages.

According to Lawrence, “Our first year was during the Rim Fire. We didn’t have smoke up here and the firefighters that were in our area loved the event. Additionally, we wanted to have a special day because local businesses here were still recovering from the recession. Thankfully, Chief Fuller Day has been successful ever since. With the amount of traffic on Highway 108 during the last holiday weekend of Summer, it just makes sense to have an enjoyable event that benefits both Mi-Wuk Village and Mountain Youth and Community Theater (MYACT).”

The admission is free.

For more information, call Mike or Debbie Laurance at 586-1225.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 and FM 102.7 KVML at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 AM.
