Search For Missing Woman Near Bear Valley

Bear Valley, CA — Search and Rescue crews from across the region have been out looking for a missing woman near Bear Valley and Lake Alpine.

71-year-old Rosalyn Saxenmeier of San Mateo County walked away from her campsite this past Thursday and has not been seen since. She was last seen wearing a yellow t-shirt, blue shorts and tennis shoes. She is 5’1” and 130 lbs, has short reddish hair and wears glasses. Emergency officials were out in force over the weekend and efforts are picking up again today. So far the search area has covered over 100 square miles. Teams from nearby Calaveras and Tuolumne counties are assisting, as are some as far away as the Bay area.
