Westside Property Could Host More Events

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Planning Commission will review whether to issue a Conditional Use Permit to allow music festivals and other similar type events at the Westside property.

The Tuolumne Band of Me Wuk Indians is looking to build off the success of last fall’s Strawberry Music Festival and host more events throughout the warmer months. The overall infrastructure of the site is being improved with enhanced utilities and additional bathroom facilities, and a new portable stage would be purchased for events, and then taken down during the offseason.

The event grounds would include 100 acres and could hold up to 6,000 participants with onsite camping. Whether to issue a Conditional Use Permit to the Tribe and TEDA is the only item on the agenda for tonight’s Planning Commission meeting which starts at 6pm in the Board of Supervisors meeting room in downtown Sonora.
