Update: Vegetation Fire Sonora Contained

Update at 3:30 p.m.: Cal Fire  reports the flames were contained at a 30′ by 30′ spot by residents in the area before firefighters arrived on scene.  There is no word on what sparked the blaze.

Original post at 3 p.m.: Sonora, CA — Firefighters and Columbia air resources are heading to a vegetation fire in the Sonora area.

Cal Fire reports the flames broke out in the 17900 block of Wards Ferry Road near Booker Road. There is no word the size or the flame’s rate of spread or if any structures are threatened.
