Revised Senior Living Development Proposed For Tuolumne County

Sonora, — The Tuolumne County Planning Commission will discuss a revised plan for a senior housing project off Tuolumne Road.

In 2013 the Board of Supervisors approved plans for the Eagle Ridge Subdivision. It called for two assistant living facilities with a total of 160 units, a medical offices building, and 24 senior residential townhomes (21 four-plexes and three duplexes totaling 90 units). All residents would be required to be over the age of 55.

A revised proposal was submitted to the county this past March by the developers Edward and Carla Brown. It now calls for one assistant living facility to house the 160 units, elimination of the medical offices building and the townhomes would be reduced to 67 units.

The project site is located on Eagle Ridge Drive West, approximately 460 ft. southwest of Tuolumne Road. The Planning Commission meeting is coming up Wednesday, July 6, at 6pm in the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors meeting room. The Commission will be making a recommendation and the Supervisors will have the final say on the matter.
