Update: Sonora Fire Contained

Update at 1:20 p.m.: Cal Fire reports the flames that broke out in the 20500 block of Bay Meadows Drive off Racetrack Road have been contained to just a spot of grass.  A tree brought power lines down and PG&E is on the scene assessing the situation. Cal Fire dispatch reports that the lines may have sparked the blaze. It took crews about 10 minutes to put out the flames.

Original post at 12:50 p.m.: Sonora, CA — Firefighters and Columbia air resources are responding to a vegetation fire in Sonora.

Cal Fire reports the flames broke out in the 20500 block of Bay Meadows Drive off of Racetrack Road. There is no word on the size of the blaze, the flame’s rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened. However, Cal Fire also reports that power lines are down. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the news center.
