CHP Identifies Man Killed In ATV Crash

Mokelumne Hill, CA — The CHP has now identified the Calaveras County man that was killed in an ATV accident on Monday.

65-year-old Daniel Hayner of Mokelumne Hill was riding a 2005 Arctic Cat ATV on Jesus Maria Road near the intersection of Baker Riley Road. For unknown reasons he went off the roadway and collided with a Dodge truck parked in a nearby driveway. Hayner was ejected from the ATV and pronounced dead at the scene by arriving emergency officials. He was not wearing a helmet. The CHP reports that the use of alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in the collision. The crash occurred at 5:30pm.
