Update: Serious Injuries In Vehicle Vs. Tree Crash

Update at 4 p.m.: The CHP reports major injuries in the crash. Tow crews have removed debris.

Original post at 2: 5- p.m.: Bear Valley, CA — The CHP is on the scene of a solo-vehicle accident on Highway 4 near the border of Alpine and Calaveras counties.

While few details are currently available, the CHP San Andreas dispatch confirmed two air ambulances were called to the scene for transport to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.

The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday a half mile east of the entrance to Bear Valley. The CHP reports a sedan heading eastbound went off the roadway and smashed into tree. There is no word on how many individuals were involved in the accident or information on injuries. The highway is clear but traffic is moving freely.
