Water Clarity Problem Delays Tuolumne Pool Opening

Tuolumne, CA — The Tuolumne Pool was scheduled to open for the season today, but it has been postponed due to water clarity issues.

As reported previously, due to a lack of lifeguards, the county’s four pools will open on a rotating schedule this year. Sonora and Twain Harte will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons and Columbia and Tuolumne will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons.

County officials are optimistic the water clarity issue will be taken care shortly, and the Tuolumne Pool will be open by this coming Thursday. Columbia will open, as scheduled, today.

Swim lessons will be offered throughout the summer at the Sonora and Twain Harte pools. For more details on the schedules, click here.
