Fire In Stanislaus National Forest

Columbia, CA — Cal Fire reports that the flames broke out is some grass along Forest Road 3N11 a mile northeast of Italian Bar Road in the Columbia area just after 2 a.m.  Fire fighters were able to put the blaze out just before 5:30 a.m. Cal Fire Dispatch reports it took a while for crews to reach the blaze, which was in a remote area.  Once on the scene, crews were able to snuff out the flames in about 20 minute with the fire contained at a quarter acre. No structures were threatened. Crews will be mopping up and checking for hotspots for the next couple of hours.
