Update: Motorcycle Crash, Tuolumne Road Completely Reopened

Update at 2:30 p.m.: The CHP reports Tuolumne Road has completely reopened. Officers had been directing traffic for more than an hour and the roadway was shutdown for 20 minutes before that.

Update at 1: 30 p.m.: The CHP reports two people suffered major injuries in the crash and one of the individuals was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

Update at 1 p.m.: The CHP had completely shutdown Tuolumne Road for about 20 minutes but officers are now directing one way traffic control. An air ambulance was called to the scene but there is no word on injuries.

Original post at 12:35 p.m.: Sonora, CA — Emergency crews are on the scene of collision involving a SUV and a motorcycle that was carrying two people in the Sonora area.

The CHP reports the crash happened at about 12:15 p.m. on Tuolumne Road at the intersection of Woodham Carne Road. Tuolumne Road is blocked so motorists will want to slow down or use an alternative route as there is plenty of activity in the area. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the newsroom.
