Major Injuries In Calaveras Motorcycle Crash

A man was flown to a hospital in Modesto, and charged with DUI, following a weekend motorcycle crash in Calaveras County.

It happened Saturday at 1:30pm on Highway 4 near Main Street in Vallecito. The CHP reports that 40-year-old Jason Belche of Ione was riding on a 2002 Harley Davidson and lost control of the motorcycle while trying to negotiate a curve. The vehicle went across the opposing traffic lane and off the road. Belche was ejected from the motorcycle and traveled down an embankment. He was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto to treat “major injuries.” The CHP reports that Belche’s level of intoxication contributed to the crash and he was charged with DUI.
