Update: Vehicle Vs. Wall Crash In Calaveras County

Update 5:35 p.m.: The CHP reports Highway 4 has reopened and traffic is moving once again. The roadway was shut down for about an hour backing up traffic all the way to Parrotts Ferry Road. The crash happened around 4:40 p.m.

Original post at 5:05 p.m.: Vallecito, CA — The CHP is on the scene of a two vehicle crash on Highway 4 and Vallecito Bypass Road.

Traffic is backed up in both directions, as far as Parrotts Ferry Road, with the wreckage blocking the roadway. The CHP reports a pickup truck and a sedan collided with one of the vehicles smashing into a wall. The CHP reports an elderly man suffered cuts to his head. Officers are a directing traffic as a emergency crews work to clear the debris from the highway.
