San Andreas, CA — The CHP reports that a man sustained serious injuries over the weekend in a crash on Highway 49.

50-year-old Douglas Crichton of Williston, North Dakota was driving a 2004 Kia Rio just south of the Redhill Road intersection. The CHP reports that it was raining at the time of the incident, and Crichton was also intoxicated. He lost control of the vehicle going into a curve and the Kia rolled over onto its roof. Crichton was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center to treat “major injuries.” No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash. It happened at 1:30am on Saturday. The CHP reports Crichton was cited for DUI, and the incident remains under investigation.
