Major Injury Crash HWY 108

Sonora, CA — The CHP report an Oakdale woman sustained major injuries after her vehicle smashes into two trees after sailing down an embankment.

The crash happened during the morning commute Monday just before seven o’clock on Highway 108 near the South Washington Street intersection.  The CHP reports 50-year-old Stephanie Bogges was heading westbound on the highway and for unknown reasons swerved off the roadway.  The vehicle went down a steep embankment overturned, smashed into a tree with the impact pushing the vehicle further down the ditch hitting another tree.

Bogges, taken by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical center, suffered a broken left arm and scratches.  The CHP reports drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the crash.  Traffic was slow going on the highway for about a half hour as emergency crews worked the accident.
