Calaveras Man Suffers Major Injuries In Crash

Glencoe, CA — The CHP reports that a Glencoe man is recovering at a hospital in Modesto from major injuries sustained in a crash on Highway 26.

The incident happened earlier this week near the intersection of Deardorff Road. The CHP reports that 64-year-old Craig Cather of Glencoe was driving a 2013 Scion and he drifted into the opposing traffic lane after diverting his attention from the road. His vehicle collided head-on with a 2002 Ford Ranger driven by 66-year-old Charles Hochstetler of West Point. The crash briefly blocked both lanes of Highway 26. Cather was flown by helicopter to Modesto Memorial Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. Hochstetler suffered minor injuries but declined medical attention.

The CHP reports that drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
