Beer Garden On Sonora Planning Commission’s Agenda

Sonora, CA — The Sonora Planning Commission will hear a proposal for a beer garden, and also weigh in on changes related to medical marijuana cultivation.

On the agenda for tonight’s meeting is an application by Trado Restaurant for a Design Review Permit to open a beer garden at an existing building at 198 S. Green Street. Trado Restaurant successfully secured a similar type permit last year to open the nearby Bourbon Barrel. The proponents are looking to include outdoor seating as part of the planned beer garden, utilizing existing outdoor storage space. It is a location where live music could be played periodically. The businesses hours would range from 11am-11pm.

In addition, the commission will make recommendations on whether to lift the ban on cultivating medical marijuana within city limits. Notably, the proposal would allow patients and caregivers to grow up to six plants on their property. The final decision on the matter will be made by the Sonora City Council. Tonight’s planning commission meeting starts at 5:30pm at City Hall.
