Kidnapping Attempt Reported To Sonora PD

Sonora, CA — The Sonora Police Department received a report of an attempted kidnapping last night.

The police report notes that the department was notified about the incident at 6:48pm. An individual in the Sonora Walmart on Sanguinetti Road was reportedly intoxicated and tried to take a child out of a customer’s arms. The suspect was last seen exiting the store and heading toward Lowes. The Police Department responded but could not locate the individual.

No one with the Sonora Police Department was immediately available for comment this morning, so no further information is immediately available. We’ll pass along more details as they become known.
