Angels Camp Bicyclist Hurt In Crash

Sonora, CA — A man riding a bicycle in Sonora was injured in a crash on Mono Way.

The Sonora Police Department reports that 33-year-old Frank Fiscus of Angels Camp was riding his bike along the eastbound shoulder of Mono Way, heading the opposite direction (westbound). A 2003 Honda Pilot, driven by Tammy Blackford of Sonora, was traveling westbound on Mono Way, approaching Restano Way, and turned into the Grocery Outlet shopping center. Blackford did not see Fiscus, who was traveling in the wrong direction, and the Honda collided with the bike.  Fiscus was ejected from the bicycle. He was not wearing a helmet, and he suffered injuries to his head and torso. Blackford was not injured.

The accident happened at 2:28pm on Thursday. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
