Arnold Teen Killed In Crash

Calaveras County, CA — The California Highway Patrol reports that a male teen involved in a weekend crash on Highway 4 near Vallecito Bypass Road has now passed away from injuries sustained.

As reported previously, the crash occurred Saturday evening just before midnight. 16-year-old Gabriel Goszulak of Arnold was one of three teens in the 2007 Mini Cooper that went off the highway and hit several trees. High speed was considered a contributing factor in the crash, but not drugs or alcohol. The driver of the vehicle was a 16-year-old male from Murphys, who suffered major injuries and was flown to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.  The other passenger, a 16-year-old male from Angels Camp, suffered major injuries and was taken to Mark Twain Medical Center. Goszulak was initially taken to Mark Twain Medical Center, but was then transported to Memorial Medical Center, where he later passed away.
