Shooting Plot Thwarted At Summerville High

Sonora, CA – A scare and shock after four Summerville High School students are arrested for making threats and planning an assault on faculty and students.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday the school’s administration contacted the department regarding three students making threats against faculty members and students. Upon further investigation, detectives interviewed many students and conducted several searches, which helped to identify a fourth student allegedly involved in the alleged shooting plot. Detectives say the plan was in the beginning stages and no students or faculty members were hurt.

Detectives arrested all four students for conspiracy to commit an assault with deadly weapons.  Their names are not being released because they are juveniles.

A press conference has been scheduled for later this afternoon.  Video and details about the press conference are in the news story “Sheriff Mele: No Further Threat to Students or Staff” and can be viewed here.
