San Marcos Man Killed In Highway 108 Crash

Strawberry, CA — A 74-year-old unidentified man from San Marcos was tragically killed in a crash on Highway 108 near Strawberry yesterday afternoon. CHP Officer Nick Norton says the 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee went down an embankment and rolled into several trees and boulders. The lone passenger, 74-year-old Bill Liles Lewis II of Oceanside, suffered major injuries and was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

Officer Norton says the two men were traveling to Kennedy Meadows, and it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor. The crash was reported at 4:40pm.
