Overnight Fires Keep Officials Busy

A couple of fires ignited in the region shortly after midnight.

Firefighters responded to a vegetation fire on Highway 108 near Tulloch Road, at 12:40am. The fire reportedly started as a vehicle fire and spread to 1/8 acre of vegetation. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.

In addition, firefighters with the CAL Fire Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit were dispatched to help extinguish a vegetation fire in Linden, also shortly after midnight. The fire near North Waverly Road and East Flood Road was contained at 3 acres.
