Update: Fire Contained At Columbia Air Base

Update5:30 p.m.:  Cal Fire report the fire has been contained at a 1/4 acre and no structures or aircraft were threatened.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Original Post 5:09: Columbia, CA — Firefighters are on the scene of a vegetation fire in Columbia.

Cal Fire reports a 1/4 acre blaze. The flames broke out at the gate of the Columbia Air Base on North Airport Road. A helicopter took off from base to support firefighting efforts, according to Cal Fire dispatch that reports ground crews are getting a handle on the blaze. We will bring you more information as soon as it comes into the newsroom.
