Funding For Tuolumne Trails

Sonora, CA — The Sonora Area Foundation has a new fund to improve trails locally. The new field-of-interest fund is called “Trail Me About It” and has seed money from a grant by the Foundation through the donor advised Front Porch Fund.  According to Executive Director Ed Wyllie, initially the there will be mini-grants for small projects that serve to enhance or rehabilitate non-motorized trails located in Tuolumne County.

According to Tyler Summersett, Senior Planner/Trails Coordinator for the Tuolumne County Transportation Council (TCTC), grants through the new program will be useful for small projects that sometimes do not fit the criteria of existing funding sources.

More information about the program, and how to donate to it, is in Wyllie’s newest blog “Trail Me About It”.
