Chabot Selected As New Superintendent

Sonora, CA — A familiar face will take over for Dr. Mike McCoy at the end of the month.

The Sonora Union High School District Governing Board has selected Patrick Chabot to become the district’s next Superintendent. Chabot has been at Sonora High School since 1993 and currently serves as Principal. He was previously a math teacher and assistant Principal.

Board President, Dr. Rob Lyons, says “Mr. Chabot’s record of service and demonstrated commitment to the Sonora Union High School District was compelling in his selection by the Board.”

Chabot will oversee budget matters, the Measure J bond projects, the district’s programs and facilities. On being selected, Chabot says “I am honored and humbled to be chosen. I look forward to continuing my work in supporting the district’s expectations and plan on making a smooth transition as the new Superintendent to serve our students, families and community.”

Sonora High’s Governing Board will finalize a contract at a meeting today.
